About this course

In this 4-session course, students will receive an introduction to leadership and team management, focusing on becoming proactive and effective leaders. They will explore key leadership traits, develop actionable steps, and apply leadership strategies to different stages of team development (Tuckman). Through exercises, roleplays, and games, students will enhance their communication and leadership skills.

Objectives

After completing this 4-session course, the students will be able to:
• Select and implement tools, strategies, and techniques to effectively lead a small (student) team
toward a given goal;
• Reflect on own leadership style and leadership competencies;
• Develop an action plan to improve desired leadership competencies;
• Understand how to select, manage, develop, and empower people in the team in the context of
Tuckman’s stages of group development.

Participant profile

2nd year students in the Research Master in Health Sciences programme (120 EC), other Research Master students and external participants.
